Terrified, Donna wasn't sure if the curse was really gone. Was it dormant? Could she pass it on to her children? Would the cure help her child if it were to be passed on? And then her worst fear came to life--she gave birth to her daughter, her cursed daughter. And she carried the birthmark! Before she could administer the "cure", someone steals Rose and now they can't find her. Armed and dangerous, Jack and Donna set out to find her before anymore people die. As they search, Donna discovers the journal of a young woman who is beginning to enjoy seeing these people die! What will she do to win her daughter back, how will she beat the curse now? Who will die to end the curse--the world, Donna, or Rose?

If you haven't read Cursed Blood, now is the time to do so before reading this extended story! How did this begin?

Excerpt

After they were finished, the detectives took Jack and Donna home. Jack knew there wouldn’t be any peace and quiet to talk so he took Donna outside for some fresh air. He wanted to talk to Donna without anyone listening in. “Is there something you’re not telling me, Donna?” he asked.

“What do you mean?” she asked back. She knew what he was getting at and did not want it to come up. There was no fighting the topic.

“I saw the look on your face when you saw that woman. Is this about the curse?” he asked. She sat down on the bench near the far end of the backyard.

She couldn’t lie to him. She tried before and was able to get it out and she felt horrible about it. She needed to come clean so they could go find their daughter. It was all she could think about. “Yes, it is about that damn curse.”

“I thought so. Does she have it?” He knew. Somehow, Jack knew. Donna felt relieved when he said that. She wasn’t sure why but she felt like something had been lifted off her shoulders.

“Yes, she does. Doctor Reynolds has been giving her a new serum. The one they used on me didn’t work on her. I don’t know if it’s because she’s so young or because her blood is so different than mine. I did want to tell you but I was just so afraid,” she told him as a tear formed in her eye.

“I know you did, Donna. Do you know what this means? If we don’t find her soon, we will repeat what happened to you. I don’t want to see that,” he told her.

“And that is why I am leaving in the morning to go find her,” Donna said suddenly. She couldn’t wait. She needed to go now. They argued for a few hours before J finally came outside.

“Would you two stop arguing about this?” J yelled at them. They were acting like children, saying words neither of them meant and raising their voices so loud the police would have been called. Of course, they didn’t have too far to go with a handful still inside the house. Both of them sat down and looked at J. He began walking back and forth with his arms folded. He stopped and looked at them. “I know the two of you want to find her. So do I. Donna, if you feel that you must go then go. Jack and I can stay here and hold down the fort. We can keep each other notified if something new comes up. I know this is something the two of you need to discuss but if you keep arguing the way you are, those police in there will know what’s going on. We’ve managed to keep the curse’s secret long enough with them and I don’t think you want them knowing about it now. Since the two of you can’t discuss this like adults, I am calling the shots. My word is final. Now, talk like you should and quietly. I’m going to bed,” he told them without letting them get in a word.

Jack looked at Donna. “He’s right. You should go. Maybe you can find something that the police can’t since you’re her mother. I will stay here. I do want you to call me and as often as you can or I will have the police put a missing person’s report on you and I’m not kidding.”

“Yeah, I know. I just don’t want to waste any time. For each day she is gone, the more my visions come true and I can’t handle that,” she said. It was the first mention of the visions. Donna couldn’t believe she told him like that. Jack stopped her right then and asked her about the visions. “I’ve had a couple now. I had one when I arrived at the hotel, just before I learned she had been taken and the other one was at the airport with you.”

“You said it was because you were tired,” he said. He couldn’t believe she had lied to him.

“Yes, I know and I am really sorry for that. If I told you about the vision then, you would have known about the curse taking Rose and I wasn’t ready to tell you yet. I wanted to find her first and get the serum back into her blood so she could heal. Now, I know it was wrong but I was only thinking of her,” she said. They talked well into the night. They needed to get some rest if Donna was going to start looking for their daughter.

The only thing Donna had; was her visions. She tried to use them to guide her in the right direction. What direction that would be, she wasn’t sure. But she couldn’t just stand there and wait. Before she left, Jack was able to get a copy of the woman’s face that the police had from the video. It was all they had to begin looking for her. It would have to be enough. As she stood at the car, ready to leave, Jack kissed her goodbye. “I’m not sure where to tell you to begin so just be careful and call me when you get where you’re going. Don’t wait too long though.” She got into the car and drove off without saying a word to him.

Donna showed the picture to everyone. No one had seen her before and this frustrated Donna. She figured since the woman lived in town, someone would know who she was. The truth was she wasn’t from town. She lived close by but not from the same town as Donna and Jack. That would have made it too easy. Nothing about the curse was easy. Donna knew that from the experiences it gave her. The few times she tried to kill herself was never successful, not even close. If the curse was easy, she wouldn’t be there in the first place. She would have never met Jack and she would have never had Rose. None of it would have ever happened. Donna didn’t want to think about that.

5Stars for this book!!!!

How far will a mother go to insure the safety and life of her child? How difficult can it be when the mother’s own life is in question? In this sequel novel to Cursed Blood, the author reminds us of the torture, agony and horror that befalls the major character Donna in her first book and continues in this her second.

When Donna’s mother conceived her and finally gave birth to her instead of an angel who would watch over and bless her be present in her room, a demon so demonic and evil was present in her room and placed a curse on her so devastating and horrific that her life and everyone’s around her would forever change.

This evil curse would haunt her every day of her life especially on her birthday. Each year on her birthday and just before it, people would die. There was nothing she could do to stop the deaths, tragedies that befell the people where she lived.

Detaching herself from the people where she lived and not forming any lasting relationships Donna lived a life of isolation in many respects.

Then, in walks two very important people that would change her life hopefully for the better. Jack, an FBI agent and his father a former one, have been searching for answers to these unsolved murders. Jakc, after meeting Donna realizes that he wants to help her once he understands her problems and helps find a doctor that might be able to provide a cure for her.

Although in Cursed Blood it appears that everything is fine, in this sequel you will see that the worst has yet to come and the perfect life they thought they had was about to change and not for the better.

Learning that she was pregnant with Jack’s child Donna becomes consumed with fear and feels that the vicious cycle of death is about to return. Remembering that her own mother died during her birth and her father not too long after brings back memories that haunt Donna and create new fears.

Donna becomes more than upset and decides to try and terminate the pregnancy in to prevent her child from living the same life as hers. However, this was not to be. She was too far along and would now have to face the future with her child and hope for the best. But, does the best happen?

Throughout the novel Donna has visions of death and heartache and more leading the reader to know that the curse has not been removed from Donna completely and more terror has yet to come.

Giving birth to a beautiful daughter that she names Rose, while Jack is away on assignment, she soon tries to forget her fears and take care of her precious girl.

When Jack learns of the birth of his daughter he cannot wait to see her when he returns home. But, that was not to be. In a blink of an eye their entire life changes. Jack is in an accident and is about to lose a leg. Donna becomes distraught and enlists her help of her father-in-law to help care for Rose and for her.

Knowing that she was Jack’s only hope for a total recovery, she agrees to leave Rose with her father-in-law in order to help him. Although she has this horrible curse, which leaves nothing but death and destruction in its wake, the end result when all is said and done is quite miraculous.

Although people die and towns burn and disappear as a result of this curse, those who manage to live can be restored to health by Donna when she revisits the towns where the curse has struck. She could fix or heal those who survived and this unique gift of healing was the Jack’s only salvation but time was of the essence and she needed to be with him before it was too late.

Thinking her daughter was in safe and capable hands she leaves to see Jack in the hospital only to hear the words that every parent dreads: YOU CHILD HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED AND WE DO NOT KNOW WHO TOOK HER.

Jack’s father turned around for one split second to get formula and put it in his shopping cart only to come back and find Rose missing.

Rose, although tested before Donna left to see Jack, and definitely having the curse, was now at the mercy of her kidnappers and had to be found before anything bad happened.

But, the worst was yet to come. The serum that worked on Donna to cure her had yet to be tried on Rose and with her missing this would not happen for many years.

Throughout this novel Donna and Jack work together to find Rose but are faced with many obstacles that prevent them from finding her many years. Seeing her in her dreams and hearing her voice telling her what she was doing and why she was continuing the deaths and destruction and thinking she was right, Donna becomes so enraged and angry she turns on everyone that cares about her, even Jack.

Year after year and vision after vision Rose’s destiny is more clearly defined and the need to find her more imperative. Seeing her killing innocent people and feeling justified, we begin to learn more about the kidnappers but not why.

Why was she taken and why did she want to continue her reign of terror? Well, All I will tell you is the kidnapping was a vendetta. I won’t say more. Do they finally find her-yes- but at all costs and not until she is much older.

When the President of the United States is abducted by the kidnapper and Rose, more information comes to light as to his connection to this deranged man and more.

Aiding in the President’s release she realizes that what she is doing might be wrong-or does she? She finally is reunited with her parents but the results are heartbreaking, horrific and catastrophic.

How far will a mother go to save her child from a life of torment and torture? How far does Donna go to give Rose the life she wants her to have and more? You have to read this FIVE STAR Novel to find out.

Will there be a sequel-Let’s hope so! Will Rose’s lead the same life as Donna? Will her child or children be the next Spawn or Spawns of the Curse? What is Donna’s really destiny and what happens to her? Will she watch over Rose? Only the author knows.
